Building Equity. Advancing Inclusion. Empowering Community.
The Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs works to ensure that Baltimore City is a safe, inclusive, and equitable place where LGBTQ residents can thrive. We serve as a bridge between City government and the LGBTQ community, advocating for policies, programs, and partnerships that address the needs of our diverse residents.
Our Priorities
- Equity & Inclusion – Partnering across City agencies to strengthen cultural competency and eliminate barriers to services.
- Community Engagement – Hosting events, forums, and initiatives to uplift LGBTQ voices and celebrate diversity.
- Health & Wellness – Supporting access to affirming healthcare, HIV prevention, and mental health resources.
- Workforce & Housing – Advancing opportunities for employment, financial stability, and safe housing for LGBTQ residents.
Recent Impact
- Established Baltimore City’s first LGBTQ Commission.
- Expanded cultural competency training across public safety and health agencies.
- Secured partnerships and funding to strengthen community programs.
- Hosted citywide events such as Pride celebrations, Transgender Day of Remembrance, and World AIDS Day.
